BBI is divisive, compromised and deceitful — Musalia Mudavadi

Barely 10 days before leaders of Western Kenya gather in Kakamega to discuss the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has poked holes in the whole process terming it an attack on him.

Mudavadi claimed the January 18 event at Bukhungu Stadium is not keen on uniting Kenyans but its targeting senior Western politicians more so himself.

“Organisers of the so-called seminar to discuss the BBI report are targeting me. They should come straight for me and avoid hiding behind the BBI,” he said.

“That so-called drive has got nothing to with unity but it is a cologned ODM party affair. At least Siaya senator James Orengo has the political maturity and courage to admit as much,” he added.

The meeting that is being organised by Trade Unionist Francis Atwoli and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has also faced a backlash from the Western Elders Council which has since distanced itself.

In a quick response, Oparanya maintained that the event is not political but offers an opportunity for the Mulembe community to air their views on the BBI report.
